<p>As much as a mother longs for a smooth pregnancy period, there is still some share of body aches and other conditions. Body ache in the abdominal area, back and legs is very normal, and there is nothing to worry about. Most of the discomforts probably go away with the progression of pregnancy. However, the pain and the aches may stay and be soothed gradually after the baby is delivered. There is nothing abnormal about pain during pregnancy.</p>

<p>However, if you have a pinching or stabbing pain in your stomach that does not feel muscular, you should consult a doctor, because that can be different from the usual body ache. </p>

<h2><strong>Normal body aches and pains: Types</strong></h2>

<h3><strong>Back pain</strong></h3>

<p>With an increase in weight and your baby bulge, your back may experience pain in carrying the extra weight. Also, since sleeping postures and sitting postures get disturbed, so back pain is normal.</p>

<h3><strong>Leg cramps</strong></h3>

<p>Similarly, due to enhanced weight and fatigue, leg cramps may come and go during pregnancy. They are normal, and you can get relief from them by oil massage. </p>

<h3><strong>Headaches</strong></h3>

<p>Since your sleeping pattern is disturbed and you are probably stressed, headaches may occur frequently. </p>

<h3><strong>Dental Pain</strong></h3>

<p>During the second and third trimester, your gums may feel sensitive. You may even experience pain and bleeding from your gums while flossing or brushing. So, swelling, bleeding, and redness in gums is common, and there is nothing to worry about. </p>

<h3><strong>Lower abdominal pain</strong></h3>

<p>When your uterus begins to grow, the ligaments that are responsible for holding the uterus stretch out. This may induce muscle spasms with a short and sharp pain in your lower abdominal area. It is quite normal for women to experience such pain during the third trimester because that is when the uterus is fully stretched. <br />

<h3><strong>Abnormal pains during pregnancy</strong></h3>

<p>There is nothing unusual about the pains during pregnancy. Look out for the following symptoms and see a doctor if you experience any of these:</p>

<p>&bull; Upper abdominal pain accompanied by headaches and shoulder pain</p>

<p>&bull; Pelvic or abdominal pain with vaginal bleeding</p>
