Can sex harm you or your unborn child during third trimester?

The fetus is not harmed by sex throughout the third trimester. The amniotic sac protects your kid and keeps it out of harm's way. In addition, your baby is protected from infections by the mucus plug surrounding the cervix. Consequently, you don't need to be concerned about her safety.

Is sex good or bad during last 3 months of pregnancy?

No, it is good, but the third trimester is difficult for many women for various reasons. The baby's head can slip down in the final trimester, resulting in pain and pressure during intercourse.

You may also use the contractions caused by the hormones released by both partners during sex to induce labor. As a result, if a woman has a history of preterm birth, she should avoid having sex in her last trimester.

Orgasms may cause Braxton Hicks contractions in the final three months of the pregnancy. Your womb and baby bump will grow firm during these contractions. This temporary condition does not represent a risk to your well-being.

Sex Positions That Are Best For You

In your third trimester of pregnancy, you may find it challenging to execute certain poses. For safe and enjoyable intercourse throughout the third trimester of pregnancy, here are several sex positions to explore.

1. Spoon Position

In the spoon position, your developing tummy may rest comfortably. Next, you're lying on your side, and your spouse comes in from the backside.

2. Woman on Top

When you're in the last stages of your pregnancy, lying on top of your spouse is a great way to keep your body cool. You can set the tempo to your liking. Just make sure that your companion doesn't get too close to you.

3. Edge of the Bed

During the third trimester, it is also a good idea to sleep on the edge of the bed. Lay on your side with your feet flat on the floor. Again, it's up to your spouse how they penetrate you. However, you should be cautious while describing your desired pace to your partner.

4. Oral Sex

Penetration is not necessary if you both prefer oral sex or mutual masturbation.

Avoid These Sexual Positions

  • Except for the missionary position, which necessitates lying on your back, no posture is inherently dangerous throughout any stage of pregnancy. However, regardless of the position you choose, communicate to your partner and prevent deep penetration, which may make you uncomfortable and result in blood loss.

  • Your partner must not push air into your vagina during oral intercourse since this might cause a blood vessel to get blocked, which is risky for both you and your unborn child.
