Hi, my wife is 33 weeks pregnant, yesterday we had done a growth scan. In the report everything is normal, except anomatic fluid index. It is showing the value 22 cm. We are worried about it. Out doc asked us to visit for checkup. Can anyone tell me is it a serious concern??

A: @shraddssss why telling 6-10?. Amniotic fluid should be 6-18 however, it all depends on the week of pregnancy.... See more

A: Yes amniotic fluid level is very important as baby breathes the fluid and level needs to be maintained. Do as suggested by Dr as by the end of pregnancy things might get critical. Level should be between 6-10 more than that is very good. Less than that is a very big concern and an emergency surgery is required or fluid insertion may be required. ... See more
