Your baby did not latch properly on your breast. Check some latching and breastfeeding videos on YouTube

You are supposed to put areola in babies mouth so that nipple completely is inside her mouth. That is the proper latching. If baby didn't latch properly/it bites or sucks only your nipple then it will pain you
