Week 32
Your baby is 8 months old
Baby says this week
Though I'm still young for pulling myself up, I may be able to lean against furniture with my hands free. Soften my falls by placing rugs or blankets underneath.
Your Baby's Development

Your baby may be on the move, or just about to be, or quite happy bum-shuffling for now.
Crawling usually shows up somewhere between 6 and 10 months, and some babies skip it altogether and go straight to pulling up and cruising. All of this is normal. If your baby isn't crawling yet, don't worry, focus on what they are doing: rolling, sitting, reaching, babbling.
Things to keep an eye on this week- First bumps and falls: once your baby is mobile, little knocks are unavoidable. A dedicated soft play area with rugs helps.
- Pulling up: once your baby can pull up to stand, lower the cot mattress to its lowest setting tonight.
- Stair gates: fit gates at the top and bottom of any stairs before you need them.
Some babies sail through teething. Others become cranky and irritable and try to chew and nibble everything they can get their hands on.
- Chilled (not frozen) teething ring
- Cool wet washcloth to gnaw on
- Soft gum rub with a clean finger
- Extra patience
- Teething does not cause high fever, ear pain or significant diarrhoea. A temperature over 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees Celsius), vomiting, or a baby who is very limp and hard to wake is not teething, call the pediatrician the same day.
- Many Indian families share a room, and that is fine for the first 6 months, in fact protective against SIDS. Keep your baby on their own firm flat surface (not in your bed), and a soft lori (lullaby) works the same magic in any home.
Bum-shuffle, crawl, or straight to cruising, your baby is finding their own road, and you are their favourite destination. These 8 month old baby milestones unfold in their own order, each one cheered by your loving eyes. Wherever they wander next, they will always look back to find you.

Thirty-two weeks. Around 7.5 months. Your baby is more alert, more aware, more demanding, and so are the days.
Energy management for working mums
If you are juggling work, baby, household, the bottleneck is usually you. Things that help:
- Outsource what you can, dabba services, part-time cooking help, weekly maid service. Delegating is not laziness; it is sustainable.
- Front-load nutrition. A solid breakfast (not just chai and biscuit) sets the day. Poha with peanuts, a paratha with curd, daliya with milk and dates.
- Block 20 minutes a day that is non-negotiable, walk, breathe, sit silently, call a friend.
Pelvic floor revisit
- Many mums notice urinary leakage when sneezing, coughing, or laughing, especially around 7–8 months when carrying a heavier baby. This is not "permanent mum life"; it is treatable. Daily kegels (squeeze, hold for 5, release; repeat 10 times, 3 sets a day) and a referral to a pelvic floor physiotherapist can change things.
Indian-mum nutrient flag
- Iron deficiency anaemia is very common in Indian postpartum mums and shows up as: exhaustion that does not lift, pale fingernails, hair fall, breathlessness on stairs, brain fog. If any of these match, ask your gynae for a CBC + ferritin test. It is one of the most treatable causes of "tired mum syndrome".
Worth flagging
- A persistent low mood, anxiety that does not switch off, or feeling disconnected from your baby, these are PPD/PPA, not "just tired". Treatment works. Talk to your gynae or a therapist.
Indian-mum survival kit
- At 7 months, your basics are: a steel water jug at hand all day, a small box of soaked almonds and dates within reach, a daily multivitamin or supplement set, a comfortable bra, sturdy slippers, and a scarf or thin shawl for any environment. Set yourself up for the day, not just the baby.
Somewhere between the dabbas and the deadlines, remember that the woman holding it all together deserves holding too. Blocking those non-negotiable minutes is not a luxury; it is postpartum self care in its truest form. Your baby is watched over best by a mother who lets herself be looked after as well.
Recommended for Your Growing Journey

By week 32, monsoon raises the dengue, malaria, and chikungunya risk in most Indian cities. DEET-free citronella + eucalyptus patches stick on the pram, cot, or clothes (not skin), last 8 hours, and are safe from 3 months+. Try Mylo Mosquito Patches that:
- Citronella + Eucalyptus Blend.
- Long 8-Hour Patch Cover.
- Sticks On Pram Or Pyjama.
Monsoon evenings feel safer when you have thought of everything, and you usually have. That quiet vigilance is a mother's invisible work, done with so much love. Give yourself the same gentle protection: rest, chai, and a little unhurried time.

Week 32: between night feeds, baby gymnastics, and back-to-routine, your shoulders carry it all. A weekly warm-oil malish with a pregnancy-safe Ayurvedic blend resets stiff muscles and improves sleep. Even 10 minutes before bath helps. Try Mylo Postpartum Massage Oil that:
- Pregnancy-Safe Ayurvedic Blend.
- Eases Winter Stiffness.
- Weekly Tension Reset.
Your shoulders have carried feeds, laundry, and a growing baby all at once. Ten warm-oil minutes before a bath is a small ceremony of putting yourself back together. You hold everyone; let something hold you.
