30 Week Old Baby: Your Baby's Development and Your Recovery This Week
Your baby is 30 weeks old (7 months). If your baby is teething, you've probably had a few rough days and some restless nights, hang in there. For you, thirty weeks. Roughly 7 months in. Here is your week, tracked.
Week 30
Your baby is 7 months old
Baby says this week
If I haven't already started crawling, I'm busy mastering the muscular coordination and strength needed for this. My first attempts may be "creeping" (propelling myself on my belly). Next, I may push up on my hands and knees and rock. Give me lots of time to practice and loads of encouragement.

If your baby is teething, you've probably had a few rough days and some restless nights, hang in there.
Don't worry if your baby's teeth come in with small gaps. The spaces usually close up by age 3, once all 20 baby teeth are through. Baby teeth can appear in any order between about 4 and 12 months.
7-month milestones showing up around now- Sitting without support for longer stretches
- Babbling in strings of consonants, "baba-baba", "gaga-gaga"
- Object permanence getting stronger, this is why peek-a-boo is suddenly hilarious
- Pulling up to sit from lying down, or rocking on hands and knees
- Stranger anxiety showing up, a wary or clingy reaction to new faces. This is healthy, not rudeness.
- A chilled (not frozen) teething ring or cold wet washcloth
- Gentle gum rubbing with a clean finger
- A cool soft food like chilled yogurt or mashed banana
- Extra cuddles
- Teething doesn't cause high fever, severe diarrhoea or vomiting. If your baby has a fever over 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees Celsius), is very limp and hard to wake, or just seems unwell, it's not teething, call the pediatrician.
Skip teething gels, amber necklaces, brandy rubs and any home remedy that goes in the mouth. They aren't needed and some aren't safe.
Worth flagging- If your baby is not lifting their head during tummy time by 3–4 months, or feels unusually limp or unusually stiff, mention it at the next pediatrician visit.
Rough nights with a teething baby can feel endless in the dark, yet they pass sooner than you think. Each new tooth is a tiny signpost of baby development, and your patient arms are the comfort your little one trusts most. Through every fussy evening, you remain their soft place to land.

Thirty weeks. Roughly 7 months in. Mums often say the first year goes by in a blur, and the milestone-chasing makes it blur faster.
Slow down a little
- Your baby will sit, crawl, stand, walk, talk on their own timeline. Some babies skip crawling entirely. Some say "mama" at 8 months, some at 14. Within wide normal ranges, your baby is fine.
The comparison trap
- Indian families and joint households often have lots of well-meaning comparison: "Sharma-ji's grandson is already crawling." "Aunty's daughter spoke at 9 months." Most of it is not from a bad place, but it can chip away at confidence.
What helps
- Trust your pediatrician's read on your baby's progress over neighbour's anecdotes.
- Take photos and short videos, not for social media, but for you. Time vanishes faster than you think.
- Block accounts that make you feel worse about your baby's pace.
Eating well, non-negotiable basics
- Curd-rice, dal-chawal with ghee, palak paratha, bajra roti, soaked almonds, a banana with milk. The boring everyday Indian foods are still mum fuel, protein, iron, calcium, fat in the right balance.
A note on your own pace
- Your body recovery is also on its own timeline. Some mums feel close to themselves at 6 months. Others at 12 or 18. None of those are "wrong".
Worth flagging
- If your baby has lost a skill they had before, eye contact, smiling, sounds, sitting unsupported, mention it at the next pediatrician visit. Regression in babies is always worth checking, even when it turns out to be nothing.
A short note on photos
- Many mums end the first year with a phone full of baby photos and almost none of themselves. Your child will want to see you in this season too, feeding, sleeping, laughing, exhausted. Get yourself in the frame more often. Imperfect photos are fine; absent ones are a loss.
Slow timelines are still forward timelines, for your baby and for you. Trust your own postpartum recovery to unfold at its own honest pace, without the neighbour's chart or anyone else's calendar. And do get into that photo frame; the woman in this season is worth remembering.
Care That Grows With You

By week 30, your baby sits up in the tub: a different game altogether. A foldable Indian-bathroom-friendly tub with anti-slip base, temperature dot, and a sit-up backrest keeps bath time fun and safe. Folds flat behind the door when done. Try Mylo Foldable Bathtub that:
- Anti-Slip Base, Sit-Up Safe.
- Temperature Dot Built-In.
- Folds Flat, Indian-Bathroom Size.
Bath time giggles are some of the sweetest sounds this season offers. Once the splashing ends and the tub folds away, let a few of those saved minutes go toward your own postpartum self care: a warm cup of something, a long exhale. You have earned the quiet.

Seven months postpartum: your stretch marks are silvery, less raised, fading slowly. Daily moisturising with cocoa-and-shea cream keeps the skin elastic and helps long-fade marks lighten further. Cream over oil for daytime (absorbs faster, leaves no shine). Indian moms swear by daily abhyanga-style massage with cream. Try Mylo Stretch Marks Cream that:
- Cocoa, Shea + Vitamin E.
- Daily Body Moisturiser.
- Non-Greasy, Soft Finish.
Those silvery lines tell the story of the home your body once was. A few unhurried minutes with cream in your palms can double up as quiet postpartum self care, a daily moment that belongs only to you. Your skin has carried you far; be gentle with it.
