151 Week Old Toddler: Your Toddler's Development and Your Recovery This Week
Your toddler is 151 weeks old (35 months). Running, turning, stopping, changing direction, your toddler's body is working overtime. For you, around 40 months. Physical activity is constant, running, climbing, jumping, dancing. This week's activity is One-Foot Standing, all of it tracked below.
Week 151
Your baby is 2 years 11 months old
Baby says this week
I love to run and try to avoid fall less. Your little one is trying to walk up and down the stairs on their own, but at times may use the rail for balance.
Your Toddler's Development

2 min read
Running, turning, stopping, changing direction, your toddler's body is working overtime.
At around 35 to 36 months, most toddlers run with good control (not perfect, corners are still dicey), balance on one foot briefly, walk on tiptoes, and some start jumping forward with both feet. Playground equipment gets more manageable; slides go from scary to favourite overnight.
Playground skills growing this month- Climbing low ladders and climbing frames
- Sliding down alone
- Swinging with help
- Using the lower rungs of a jungle gym
- Kicking a ball in roughly the right direction
- Equipment that is age-appropriate, toddler zones if available
- Surfaces that cushion falls (rubber or sand, not concrete)
- Crowded play areas with older kids running through
- Sun and water breaks, toddlers this age do not notice overheating
A confident walker is also a wandering walker. Plan for this:
- Scan the exits when you arrive somewhere new
- Keep them in sight or within arm's reach in busy places
- Teach them a meeting point: "If we get lost, we meet by the big tree"
- A wrist strap in airports and crowds is not over the top, it is practical
Letting them run free in safe spaces matters. Park visits, open lawns, beach walks, all let the growing body do what it wants to do. The toddler who has burned off energy outdoors sleeps better, eats better, melts down less.
Vision check worth a mention- A steady squint, a white reflection in flash photos, or frequent bumping into things, worth getting a vision check.
From wobbling first steps to fearless slides, you have watched toddler development unfold like a story only you could tell. Each burst of speed across the park carries a little of your courage with it. Stay close, wave from the bench, and enjoy the show you helped create.
Your Health & Lifestyle

Around 40 months. Physical activity is constant, running, climbing, jumping, dancing. Your toddler is more agile than you may be at 35+.
What's happening for you
- Keeping up physically takes daily fitness work. Strength, flexibility, stamina, all need maintenance now.
Things that often help
- 30-min daily movement (walk, yoga, light strength)
- Strength 2-3x weekly
- Pelvic floor exercises daily
- Stretching morning and evening
For mum's body at 40 months postpartum
Most physical recovery is done. What's still building:
- Strength (if you've been working on it)
- Cardiovascular fitness
- Flexibility
Eating well
- Three meals + two snacks. Protein at every meal.
Worth flagging
- If you're regularly out of breath on stairs, fatigued after small efforts, or have persistent body pain, see a doctor. Anaemia, thyroid imbalance, deficiencies are common; all treatable.
Indian-tradition tip
- Indian fitness traditions, yoga, surya namaskar, pranayama, all accessible without equipment. 30 minutes daily. Many online options for guided practice.
Indian-mum reminder
- You're 3+ years into mum life. The next 15+ years stretch ahead. Investing in fitness now compounds for decades. Walk most days, strengthen 2-3x weekly, sleep when you can, these basics carry you for life.
Indian-tradition nutrition tip
- A small bowl of soaked chana with jaggery, a glass of haldi-doodh before bed, a methi-paratha with curd for breakfast. The boring Indian basics that grandmothers swore by, they were right. Pack iron, calcium, protein and warmth.
Indian-tradition body care kept
- A weekly Sunday body care ritual, oil-massage, hair-mask, skin care, was a long Indian tradition before social media. It still works. 30-60 minutes once a week is genuinely restorative. Costs little. Pays back daily.
Dance, a walking group, a mat unrolled at sunrise: whatever moves you counts, and it counts double when it brings you joy. Building strength for the years ahead is mother self care with a long memory. Your body has carried the family this far; now let it be carried a little too.
Support You’ll Love Right Now

By week 151, outdoor time is daily: playgroup, parks, walks. DEET-free citronella + eucalyptus patches stick on clothes (not skin), last 8 hours, safe from 3 months+. Indian-city evening swarms hit hard between dusk and 8 pm. Try Mylo Mosquito Patches that:
- Citronella, Lemongrass + Eucalyptus.
- 8-Hour DEET-Free Protection.
- Sticks On Cloth, Not Skin.
Evening walks, park rounds, little hands in yours at dusk: these outdoor hours are where childhood memories are quietly stitched. You think of everything so those evenings can stay carefree. Once the little one is asleep, let some of that care turn towards your own rest.

Gentle Baby Wipes With Lid (Pack of 2) + Mosquito Patches (Pack of 24)

Week 151: late melasma patches still show in humidity. A turmeric + saffron + besan ubtan face wash brightens gradually. Morning and evening with cool water. Try Mylo Ubtan Face Wash that:
- Brightens Uneven Tone.
- Turmeric + Saffron Blend.
- Sulphate-Free, Daily-Safe.
Those two quiet minutes at the basin, morning and evening, belong entirely to you. Skin takes its time, and so does settling into this new chapter of yourself; be unhurried with both. The face in the mirror has carried remarkable years, and she deserves your kindness.

Activity This Week: One-Foot Standing

2 min read
Toddler stands on one foot for a few seconds. By 33 months, balance is good enough for brief one-leg stand.
How to do itShow toddler how to lift one foot and balance. Hold their hand at first. Count: "one, two, three!" Praise each successful second.
What it builds- Balance, leg strength, focus, and gross motor.
- Indian yoga has Vrksasana (tree pose), toddler version. The seed of yoga starts here.
- At the 3-year well-visit, mention any speech, motor, behaviour or social concerns. Early input works better than late.
- Morning energy slot.
- 1 sec, then 3, then 5, then 10.
- Dadi or papa doing the pose alongside, yoga as family activity.
- Same activity at roughly the same time daily for 1–2 weeks builds skills faster than scattered attempts. Toddler learning compounds with repetition.
- Multiple adults playing, dadi, papa, mausi, adds variety. Toddler builds adaptability.
- Vrikshasana (tree pose) basics. Hold your hand for support. 1–2 second stand.
- Surya namaskar simplified, vrikshasana, balasana, accessible at toddler scale.
- 1 second this week, 2 seconds next. Don't push for adult duration.
- Many Indian pre-schools include yoga. Familiar poses = confident toddler.
- Many Indian families do morning surya namaskar. Toddler can join with simplified poses.
- Dadi or nana often does daily yoga. Toddler joining once a week builds early body awareness.
- Morning sun-time is best. Cool floor, no socks, just toddler and you.
- Many Indian pre-schools include yoga. Familiar poses equal confident toddler.
A tiny tree pose on a cool morning floor, your hand held tight: this is where a lifetime of steadiness begins. Balancing for a single breath is one of those 2 year old milestones that looks small and means so much. You are the support they trust enough to let go of.
