Week 133
Your baby is 2 years 7 months old
Baby says this week
Mom, I sometimes think about the world around me, how you do people live, what kind of houses do they have and if there is a world outside my house. I want to explore the outdoors and make sense out of the new adventures outdoor.
Your Toddler's Development
2 min read
This stage feels like your toddler wakes up with a new trick every few days.
Around 31 to 32 months, toddlers are making real thinking leaps, solving simple problems (stacking a stool to reach the tap), linking cause and effect ("if I press this button, the light goes on"), remembering where things belong, and wanting to do everything themselves.
Little jobs they can do nowLet them, even when it is slower:
- Put dirty clothes in the laundry basket
- Wipe up a small spill with a cloth
- Fetch a nappy or a pair of socks
- Throw a wrapper in the bin
- Water a plant with a small cup
- Help stir something (cool, not hot)
- Around this age, most toddlers can follow a two-step instruction: "Pick up your cup and put it on the table." Watch yours test this with you, sometimes they will follow; sometimes they will take it as a challenge. Both are normal.
- Toys that respond to what your toddler does, stacking cups, shape-sorters, simple switches, pop-up toys, fuel the thinking brain right now. So does water play: pouring, tipping, watching it flow. Messy, yes. Useful, also yes.
If a task is too hard, they will let you know, usually loudly. Step in, simplify, let them finish. Small wins each day are the fuel for trying harder tomorrow.
Call the doctor- If your toddler refuses food and water for more than a day, has blood in their stool, or has no bowel movement for 3+ days with hard pellets, call your pediatrician.
- Soft khichdi with a spoonful of ghee, mashed roti dipped in dal, a small bowl of curd-rice with a pinch of jaggery, these go down easily and pack iron and fat in the right amounts.
A stool dragged to the tap, a button pressed with triumph, these small feats are 2 year old milestones dressed up as mischief. You are watching a mind assemble itself in real time. What a front-row seat you have, even on the exhausting days.
Your Health & Lifestyle

Around 33.5 months. Your toddler has more thinking and learning skills. Independence is the theme of year 3.
What's happening for you
- Letting toddler do things themselves takes patience. Watching them succeed is delightful. Watching them fail and recover, also delightful, just slower.
Things that often help
- Allow extra time for toddler to attempt things
- Step back; let them try
- Praise effort and willingness, not just success
- Don't rescue too quickly
For mum's mindset
- Independence-building requires patience. Your patience is finite. Manage your own basics first.
Eating well
- Three meals + two snacks.
Worth flagging
- If your patience is dramatically shorter than it was, yelling, hitting, snapping, that's exhaustion. Or PPD. Or stress. All treatable. Talk to a therapist. CBT works well for emotional regulation.
Indian-tradition tip
- A weekly oil-massage day, a Sunday morning ritual, a daily pranayama, these small Indian-mum practices anchor patience. They aren't magic; they're slow-acting calming practices.
Indian-mum reminder
- The toddler-takes-longer phase is real. Build it into your schedule. A 5-minute task takes 20 minutes when toddler does it. This isn't laziness on your part to give them time; it's investment in their growth and your sanity.
An Indian-mum tradition kept
- A weekly oil massage, head, shoulders, lower back, with warm sesame, mustard or coconut oil. Done by yourself or family for 15-20 minutes. Indian aunties have known this is restorative for centuries. Modern medicine agrees.
Indian-mum life-stage reminder
- You are 2-3 years into mum life. The next 15+ years stretch ahead. Sustainable beats sprint. Build habits now that scale: real food most days, real sleep when possible, daily movement, weekly social or solo time, an annual full health check.
Standing back while small fingers fumble with a task takes a patience that deserves its own medal. Refilling that patience, with rest, with quiet, with a warm meal eaten sitting down, is mother self care doing its real job. The gentler you are with yourself, the more gentleness you find to give.
Support You’ll Love Right Now

By week 133, deep Indian winter brings cracked toddler cheeks and dry knee patches. A non-greasy lotion with shea butter and milk protein locks moisture for 24 hours. Daily post-bath, plus before outdoor visits. Pairs with traditional coconut-oil massage. Try Mylo Baby Lotion that:
- 24-Hour Moisture Lock.
- Shea Butter + Milk Protein.
- Pairs With Coconut Malish.
Cold mornings, warm cheeks, and the daily ritual of lotion-covered wriggles, winter with a toddler is its own small festival. Your care is the warmth they will remember long after they forget the season. Wrap a little of it around yourself too.

100% Safe Baby Lotion for Kids - 200 ml - Pack of 2
Made Safe Australia Certified | Dermatologically Tested | Long Lasting 24 Hours Moisturization| Soothes Dryness

Week 133: weekly onion + bhringraj massage keeps the scalp cool and the regrowth steady. 30 minutes before wash, finger-tip massage. Quiet self-care window. Try Mylo Onion Hair Oil that:
- Onion + Amla + Bhringraj.
- Supports Regrowth Phase.
- Twice A Week, 30-Min Leave-On.
A little warm oil and a closed door, guard that window like the treasure it is. Your hands spend all week giving; once a week, let them give to you. The quiet will still smell faintly of your mother's Sundays, and that is its own kind of comfort.

Activity This Week: Outdoor Helper Tasks

2 min read
Toddler helps with outdoor activities like sweeping balcony, watering plants, picking flowers. By 30 months, toddler enjoys real-world participation.
How to do itTake toddler to balcony or aangan. Hand them small tools, small jhadu, small pot, small basket. Show them how to sweep, water, gather.
What it builds- Real-world participation, fine motor, outdoor exposure, and household contribution.
- Indian aangans and balconies have plenty of small chores. Indian families have always involved kids early in outdoor work.
- At the 3-year well-visit, mention any speech, motor, behaviour or social concerns. Early input works better than late.
- Morning or evening cooler hours.
- Letting toddler help dadu in the small garden = bonding + real skills.
- Avoid midday heat. Early morning works best.
- Same activity at roughly the same time daily for 1–2 weeks builds skills faster than scattered attempts. Toddler learning compounds with repetition.
- Multiple adults playing, dadi, papa, mausi, adds variety. Toddler builds adaptability.
- Carry their own small bag on a market trip. Water the tulsi plant. Feed the gilehri or birds. Bring papa's chappal. 5–10 minute jobs.
- Generations of Indian families involve toddlers in daily tasks. Modern parenting culture sometimes pulls toddlers away from this, bring it back.
- "I help" is a powerful early-childhood statement. Toddler who contributes, belongs.
- Morning task or evening task. Pick one and stick. Same time daily makes contribution feel routine, not chore.
- Dadi often the patient supervisor. Indian elders who have raised generations know how to wait while a toddler tries.
A small jhadu in small hands, and suddenly the balcony is a classroom. Everyday chores make honest, joyful activities for 2 year old helpers, and the pride on their face is worth every spilled watering can. You are raising someone who knows the sweetness of being useful.
