129 Week Old Toddler: Your Toddler's Development and Your Recovery This Week
Your toddler is 129 weeks old (30 months). At around 30 to 31 months, your toddler is starting to see themselves as a separate person with their own ideas, and they are going to tell you about it. For you, around 32 months. Toddler misbehaviour for attention is real and frequent. This week's activity is Time-Words Practice, all of it tracked below.
Week 129
Your baby is 2 years 6 months old
Baby says this week
I enjoy so much when you play music of different genres and I try to match up the dancing steps. I love to play throw and catch a ball game with Daddy. I am so habitual of my soothing bedtime routine because I know that you will tell me a nice story before sleeping. You might notice some major changes in my mood like at the beginning of the day I will insist you go out with me and in the evening, I simply might refuse to go out. I can quickly withdraw and become disinterested in any situation.
Your Toddler's Development

2 min read
At around 30 to 31 months, your toddler is starting to see themselves as a separate person with their own ideas, and they are going to tell you about it.
This shows up in small, funny ways: using their own name in the third person ("Aryan do it!"), pointing to themselves in photos, picking out their own clothes, and making very firm decisions about what is theirs and what is not. "Mine!" becomes a favourite word. It is not selfishness, it is identity taking shape.
Growing a sense of self- Use their name often: "This is Meera's cup."
- Point out their reflection: "Who is that in the mirror?"
- Let them pick between two outfits each morning
- Give them small responsibilities: carrying a napkin to the table, pressing the lift button
- Ask for their opinion: "Which book should we read?"
Sharing is a skill that genuinely develops closer to 3 years. Until then, "mine" is how they protect their growing sense of self. You can still coach it without expecting mastery:
- Set a timer for turn-taking at the park
- Name what is happening: "You are using it now. When you are done, it is Dev's turn."
- Do not force sharing of a deeply loved toy, put it away before playdates if needed
Talking about yourself out loud also helps: "Mama is making dinner now. Mama feels tired." Hearing you label yourself teaches them to label themselves.
Bilingual is normal- Many Indian homes speak two or three languages. Your toddler may mix Hindi-English-regional words in one sentence, that is healthy code-switching, not confusion. Keep talking in whichever language feels natural; fluency in all of them comes with time.
'Mine!' can be exhausting to hear and wonderful to understand, because a self is being born in your living room. This fierce little claiming is toddler development laying the foundation of confidence. And through it all, the person they most want to be near is still, always, you.
Your Health & Lifestyle

Around 32 months. Toddler misbehaviour for attention is real and frequent.
What's happening for you
- Your toddler will throw food, yell, hit, throw tantrums, sometimes for attention, sometimes from genuine overwhelm. Distinguishing the two is hard.
Things that often help
- For attention-seeking misbehaviour: minimal reaction, brief redirection
- For overwhelm: connection, physical closeness, calm
- Don't reward the misbehaviour with extended attention
- Reward the good behaviour (even small) with eye contact and warmth
For mum's own bandwidth
Year-3 mum needs reservoirs:
- Real food, real sleep
- Daily movement
- One social or solo hour weekly
- Therapy or coaching if patterns feel stuck
Eating well
- Three meals + two snacks. Iron-rich Indian basics.
Worth flagging
- If your toddler's misbehaviour is escalating despite consistent boundaries, head-banging, biting until skin breaks, harming animals, extreme aggression, talk to the pediatrician. Most are normal range; some benefit from behavioural intervention or developmental evaluation.
Indian-context note
- Indian families sometimes default to fear-based discipline (shouting, hitting, threats). It works short-term, doesn't long-term. Calm consistent boundaries work better, uncomfortable as that shift feels.
Indian-tradition tip
- The bedtime routine, bath, story, prayer, sleep, held consistently is one of the strongest emotional anchors for toddlers. Skip variations. Keep it the same most nights.
Indian-mum reminder
- You are not just a mum. You are still a daughter, sister, friend, worker, soul. Tending to those parts of you protects you from full identity merger. Year 3 is a good moment to rebuild the non-mum parts.
Indian-mum self-care anchor
Three small daily anchors that compound over a year:
- A real breakfast within 1 hour of waking (not just chai-biscuit)
- A 30-minute walk most days, ideally early morning or evening
- 10 minutes of pranayama or quiet meditation before bed
These are free, traditional, and genuinely effective. Skip the wellness-trend stuff if it doesn't fit your life.
Some days you referee, some days you comfort, and many days you do both before breakfast. Parenting a toddler through the testing phase is invisible, repetitive, heroic work, and none of it is wasted. The warmth you return to, again and again, is what they will remember.
Your Care Essentials

By week 129, family travel is easier with a carrier in Indian streets and trains. A 3-in-1 carrier with hip-seat support, padded shoulder straps, lumbar belt grows with bigger toddler. Try Mylo Baby Carrier that:
- Back-Mode For Big Toddler.
- Hip-Seat + Lumbar Support.
- Indian-Street Friendly.
Trains, markets, wedding crowds, you have carried your child through the whole loud, beautiful country of family life. Your shoulders have been a window seat to their earliest world. When they walk beside you one day, remember it was your carrying that taught them the way.

Week 129: 29 months postpartum, the right bra still matters for back pain and posture during long toddler-chase days. Wire-free seamless bra with adjustable hooks fits the settled body. Soft enough for joint-family in-laws drop-ins on quick changes. Try Mylo Maternity Bra that:
- Wire-Free, No Underwire Pinch.
- Soft Hooks, Quick Adjustments.
- Padded Straps, Long-Day Wear.
Comfort is not a small thing when your days start early and end late. Choosing what feels good on your own body, without apology, is a quiet act of self-respect. You dress a small person every day with such care; extend that same care to yourself.

Activity This Week: Time-Words Practice

2 min read
Using "now", "later", "after", "before" in everyday talk. By 28 months, toddler grasps basic time concepts.
How to do itUse natural time words: "After lunch we go to park." "Before sleep we brush teeth." "Now we read." Repeat through the day.
What it builds- Time concepts, sequence understanding, and language sophistication.
- Indian-home rhythm naturally has time words, chai time, lunch time, evening puja, dinner. Use these as anchors.
- Persistent disinterest in any activity, or sudden loss of skills toddler had, both worth mentioning at the next pediatrician visit.
- No separate session. Just deliberate use throughout the day.
- Now/later first. Then before/after. Then today/tomorrow.
- A daily picture chart on fridge helps toddler grasp sequence.
- Same activity at roughly the same time daily for 1–2 weeks builds skills faster than scattered attempts. Toddler learning compounds with repetition. Indian-home rhythms support this naturally, pick a slot, stick to it.
- Multiple adults playing, dadi, papa, mausi, adds variety. Toddler builds adaptability through different voices, paces, and patience levels.
- Three time-words to start. Use during daily routine. "Now we eat. Later we play. Tomorrow we go to dadi's."
- "Subah" (morning), "raat" (night), "kal" (yesterday/tomorrow, context tells which). Toddler picks both meanings of "kal" eventually.
- Exposure is the win at 30 months. They store the words now, use them later.
- "After lunch we will go to park", toddler learns time by linking to known events.
'After lunch', 'before sleep', your day's rhythm is teaching your child how time itself works. It is humbling how much toddler development happens in plain conversation, between the chai and the park. Your ordinary words are building an extraordinary mind.
