Sex can be thrilling when you have no pressure of starting a family. If you’ve decided to get pregnant and are getting unsuccessful results for a long time then, it certainly leaves a negative impact on your sexual life. Before trying to get pregnant your life was so much fun because you were relying on those birth control methods and you were sure about the results. As the process of conception gets delayed or takes some extended time you certainly get disappointed.

Even if you are in perfect health, you must not expect to get pregnant in the first month of trying because some things are not in your hands. Some people think that having sex in the perfect window of ovulation and some healthy sperm can easily help you get pregnant but it’s not that easy. You might even feel sad and insecure, and start worrying about the infertility treatment also.

Earlier sex was a pleasurable activity for you and your partner and now when you are so stressed out you feel like it’s just one more thing on your to-do list. You might lose interest in your partner as well.

Tips to Eliminate Stress from Sex When Trying to Conceive

Here is some guidance for you and your partner if you both have lost that spark in your relationship while trying to conceive:

    1. Good Things Take Time

You must remember that getting pregnant takes some time and it becomes easier if you take help from a gynaecologist or a fertility expert. If you are less than 35 years of age and physically fit then you don’t have to worry about anything. The fertility starts decreasing if you are more than 35, In that case, you might not get successful results in the first month of trying. Just relax your mind and build a strong healthy relationship with your spouse.

    2. Start Tracking Your Ovulation

Know your body and calculate your ovulation cycle. You can use an ovulation predictor kit to enjoy the most and reap the numerous benefits of tracking your ovulation. If you know on what days you are most fertile the chances of your getting pregnant increase but make sure you are not giving any stress to your partner related to this. At times calculating and tracking fertility windows can cause unnecessary stress and for accurate evaluation, you must take help from a doctor.

    3. Don't Make it Mechanical

Listen to your body and instincts. There is no need to force your partner to have sex every other day just because you want to conceive fast. Your partner’s sperm count may also decrease at times because of the constant stress. You must remember that having sex is about connection and not just a mechanical procedure to get pregnant.

    4. Talk Things Out

You must communicate with your partner about your feelings or listen to them. If at any given point in time you or your partner feels anxious or simply feels too much pressure, then you both must talk. If you think that things are going out of your hands then you may also consult a therapist or a counsellor.

    5. Keep the Romance Alive

Making love should be fun and pleasurable for both partners just like you had on your honeymoon or during courtship. If you are not getting aroused by sex then you can watch a romantic movie with your partner or lube can help. At least you can have a good intimate relationship with your partner even if you don’t immediately get pregnant. You must have sex the way you like and it should not be a lovemaking procedure just to get pregnant.

    6. Keep Things Interesting

Sex can become frustrating and may even feel like a chore but you must get over that feeling. Spend some time pampering yourself, decorating your room and keeping the spice in your sex life alive. Focus on building a strong relationship with your partner and then you are just one sex text away from your partner to arouse them.

    7. Embrace Who You Are

At times the couple trying to conceive may start to feel ashamed of their body. Low self-confidence and acceptance can also make them depressed. Additionally, sexual dysfunctions can also bring shame, frustration, depression, and anxiety. Don't let these feelings dull your sexual life. Eat a healthy balanced diet, exercise regularly and accept yourself and your body.
