Importance of Good Nutrition During the First Three Months of Your Pregnancy 

Remember how you confirmed your pregnancy? Missed periods? Urine analysis? Vomiting and nausea? Yeah! Most of us confirm our pregnancy with these unusual feeling of nausea and tiredness that seems to originate from nowhere. Most pregnant women develop unusual dislikes for food, even for menus that were your favorite. But consuming a nutritious and balanced diet is of paramount importance during the first trimester to cope with the needs of the baby, whether you like it or not. 

Nutrition during early months of pregnancy: 

The first trimester is the time when the uterus and the body are preparing for the growth of a new baby. The blood volume increases, the demand for hemoglobin, calcium, and other minerals also increase to grow a healthy fetus. Important organs like the heart, the nervous system, and the brain develop during this time. It is thus important to take folic acid, vitamins, and minerals through nutritious food during the first trimester. Though inconveniences like vomiting occur, it is still important to take nutritious food either in liquid or semi-solid form during this period. 

It is mandatory to take food rich in calcium, and proteins to aid in the formation of bones and muscles of the fetus. It is important to gain few kilograms of weight during this time, though most women end up losing weight owing to hyperemesis. 

Foods to include during the first trimester:
